A POLISH PROBLEM Ukrainians Want Separation [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received December 5, 8.10 p.m.) WARSAW; December 5. Doctor Mudryj announced in the Polish Diet that the Ukrainian group in the Diet were introducing a bill demanding for the Ukrainians of Poland the right of self-government. He denounced the Polish Government for the treatment of the Ukrainian minority, who number between five and six millions. Other speakers in the Diet, however, replied that the Poles and the Ukrainians had lived together for a thousand years, and the Ukrainians had fared better under Polish rule than they fared elsewhere, The Recent Crisis PEACE TULIPS. RUGBY, December 3. As an expression of gratitude for the preservation of peace in Europe, the Exporters’ Committee has offered gifts of bulbs for planting in the neighbourhood of the Parliament buildings of those countries which contributed to rescue mankind from the horrors of war. On behalf of the British Government, 10,000 tulips from the committee have been accepted, and these will be planted in the gardens adjoining the Victoria tower of the Houses of Parliament.

POLAND’S REARMAMENT. LONDON, December 4. The Warsaw correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph” says the Treasurer (M. Kwaitkowski) urges expedition of rearmament. He announced a three-year plan to spend £80,000,000 on defence works, concentrating'on the strategic triangle of south and central Poland. Armament and’ aeroplane plants are working at full blast. ....
