Earl de la Warr, speaking at Bradford said:—“There has always been in Britain a liking for the German people and also a realisation that their system of government is no attair of ours. But there is a deep, /rowing feeling that nothing that we can do will satisfy them—that friendly words and actions are mistaken for cowardice, and that only armaments can speak effectively. Every man and woman was ready last September. If we fight we must, our cause would triumph. Third Big Battleship BEING BUILT IN GERMANY. (Received December 5, 8.20 p.m.) LONDON, December 5. The Berlin correspondent of the ( “Manchester Guardian” says: Germany is building a third battleship of thirty-five thousand tons, with eight fifteen-inch guns and twelve six-inch guns.
