[Our Own Correspondent] ' Heavy rain which fell on Friday, flooded the roads to some extent, and the main highway near Ferguson's was washed away, a temporary, road having to be made through the adjoining paddock. It is the intention of the School Committee to build a room suitable for the Dental Nurse in use wnen on visits to the district. Mrs J. Peterson, who has been a patient in the Westland Hospital, returned home last week. Mrs Lewis, who has been on a visit to Christchurch, has returned. Miss McGirr, who has also been on a visit to 'Christchurch, returned at the week-ena. Mr G. Stent, assistant at the local dairy factory, had the misfortune to fracture his arm one night last week. He was cranking a car when it backfired. Mr L. Rollings, of the Amuri Motors, paid a brief visit herq last week. Mr J. Lamberton, who has been on a visit to Reefton, has returned. Miss K. Levett, of Hokitika is here on a visit. There was a good attendance on Friday evening at the ball held by the Basketball Club, despite the adverse weather.
