BRITISH CREDITS
Used by Turkey FOR SHIPS AND RAILWAY EQUIPMENT. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received December 5, 8.10 p.mJ ISTANBUL, December 5. Out of the £10,000,000 of credit which the British Government has arranged to provide in Britain for Turkey, the sum of £1,919,000 is being devoted by the Turkish Government to the buying of eleven mercantile steamers from the firm of Swan Hunter, Wigram and Richardson. One and a-half millions is being, used to purchase forty-one English locomotives, and two hundred freight cars.
