KUMARA NOTES

LOur Own Correspondent! Mr. J. McFarlane (President), presided over a general meeting of the Kumara Branch of the Labour Party, when the balance sheet and general matters in connection with the election were finalised. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the approval of members was expressed at the action of the President and Secretary in sending congratulatory messages to several Ministers and Members after the Labour victory. After the balance sheet was read and approved, it was resolved that the following donations be made: “Argus Machine Fund,” £2; to the “Standard,” £l. This would leave a small credit balance after all accounts were paid. Members expressed appreciation and wished to place on record the valued services of the Secretary (Mr. H. Hamer), who had attended to all details in a very capable manner. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded the meeting.
