ROUMANIAN “PURGE”
18,000 Arrests MADE IN TWO DAYS (Independent Cable)., (Received December 4 7.30 p.m.) Warsaw, December 4. The press reports the Rumanian police are now carrying out a ruthless “purge” of the Iron Guard elements throughout the country. The police team arrested eighteen thousand persons as suspects within two days. MORE PRISONERS SHOT. BUCHAREST December 4. Three Iron Guards, who had been arrested, in connection with. the assassination of Goanga, were shot dead, while escaping.
