THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, December 1. The weather is as follows: — General Situation: Pressure is relatively high to the north «r»d north east, while a depression covers the Tasman. An anticyclone is slowly x approaching south-eastern Australia from the west. Forecast: Winds variable in the southern portion of the South Island, but otherwise northerlies to northwesterlies prevailing, the force mainly light to moderate, but freshening ing about Cook Strait and in exposed positions elsewhere. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to ipugh about Cook Strait; elsewhere light to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea? Moderate to strong northerly winds prevailing; seas rather rough to rough. Weather for the most part fair to cloudy and warm, but rain is probable in the western and southern districts af the South Island.. Some isolated local falls are probable also in other districts. •
