1500 REFUGEES
TO ENTER AUSTRALIA Government Decision [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.l (Received December 1. 11.40 p.m.) CANBERRA, December 1. The Commonwealth Government has decided to admit fifteen thousand European refugees to Australia, over a period of three years. Only those classes of refugees will be admitted whose entry would not disturb the existing labour conditions. Individuals with capital or with experience to establish or develop industries will be given special consideration. Legislation is also being introduced in the Senate, immediately, containing drastic provisions for the registration of Aliens in Australia.
