Replying to a Commons question regarding Mr Pirow’s Continental tour, Mr MacDonald said: “I have no doubt that, when Mr Pirow returns to this country, he will give us information about these various conversations in Europe, but Members are under a misapprehension. They seem to suppose that some negotiations are proceeding between Mr Pirow and Herr Hitler. As I said previously, I am not aware of any such negotiations having taken place.”
