MEXICAN OIL

BRITISH INTERESTS. [British Official Wireless.] RUGBY, May 16. The surprise and regret of His Majesty's Government at the decision of the Mexican Government to close its legation in London was expressed by Mr R. A. Butler, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, in the House of Commons. In answer to a question, he said he could not forecast any further action which might be undertaken, but the Government would naturally continue its best endeavours to protect the substantial British commercial interests in Mexico. He expressed the hope that any efforts made by the British Government to secure a settlement with Mexico would be supported in all quarters of the House.
