POLO

N.2. PONIES SOLD IN SYDNEY. | [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] ■ (Received April 29, 11.15 p.m.) | _ SYDNEY, April 29. 1 The New Zealand polo representatives did not get the prices which they anticipated at a sale of polo ponies in Sydney to-day. Possibly it was due to the fact that of the eight the,y submitted, two were lame, and two had severe colds. There was also an impression that, although speedy enough, the ponies would not stand up to a severe tournament. Mr MacKenzie got 120 guineas for Patience, and one hundred guineas for Kino. Mr B. O’Grady got 130 guineas for Storey. On the other hand, Queensland ponies were in demand, one bringing 220 guineas, and another 200 guineas. The Victoria Hunt Club defeated the Robers by nine goals to 6i in the final of the Town and Cotmtrv Polo Cup.
