A well attended meeting of the Women’s Institute was held on Wednesday in the Memorial Hall- Mrs. J. Reedy presided and, referring to the good attendance, said that the Institute were always pleased to welcome new members and visitors. Mrs. M Shaffrey, of Inchbonnie, was welcomed and, as a visitor, spoke on the good work of the Institutes generally. A very fine demonstration of prgandi work was given by Mrs. Schumacher. This proved very interesting to all present. Competitions resulted as follows —Best bloom: Mrs. Haines Ist., Mrs. Thorn 2nd., Mrs Gutberlet 3rd. Best Pot of Jelly. Miss Hamer Ist., Mrs. Mitchell 2nd., Mrs. West 3rd. The Drama Circle is to be revived during the winter months. Next meeting will be held on Tuesday next. Owing to the many public calls bn the Institute the matter of time and place of meeting was reconsidered and it was resolved that meetings be held as formerly in the afternoons at Trinity Hall.
