KUMARA ELECTIONS.
fTo the Editor.] Sir, —It is pleasing that someone still has hopes of Kumara remaining on the map. I believe the deputy Mayor should be our next Mayor. He has a good help in his wife, who has the highest honour in the Women's world in Kumara, and his personality, popularity, sporting and kindly nature should place him as our first citizen. He too is a man who never allows a difference of opinion to alter friendships. He will discuss matters with his friends as well as those opposed to perhaps his views. He is associated with every sporting and local body, and is always present to help and to say what he thinks. He is approachable, as an employer, a worker and a citizen, but his modesty and friendship unfortunately do not give him the spur to oppose the present Mayor if he still wants the office. Kumara will come into its own if a change is made, as I feel sure progress would follow the promotion of our Deputy Mayor.—l am etc. PUBLIC SPIRIT.
