XTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that JN the Grey Electric Power Board proposes at it; meeting, to be held on ?ne 18th day of May, 1938 to consider a motion to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to the borrowing of the sum of £20,000 for the additional Reticulation in the Board's District. ' The proposed security for such proposed Special Loan is a Special Rate of .1237 pence (decimal one two three seven pence) in the £ upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the Grey Electric Power Board’s District. . Any person having any objection to the proposed application is callee upon to submit the same in writing to the Grey Electric Power Board not later than the day preceding the said meeting. iaari The loan is proposed to be raised under Section 15 of the Finance Act, 1936, No. 2. EMPLOYMENT TAXATION. A n the Ist May, an instalment of "the' Registration Levy will become payable by all male persons twenty years of age and over, other than those entitled to exemption. The > first instalment of the Employment .Charge of 8d in the £ on income other than salary or wages der ‘ ved c J ur ' the year ended 31st March, 1938, also falls due on the same date It is essential that a declaration of such income (“nil” or otherwise), together with the declaration of „ Industrial and Occupational Status, be furnished during May by males (including Natives) who have attained the age of twenty years. In the case of a “nil” declaration of income, Part II of the form must be completed. Women (including Native women) twenty years of age or over whose income other than salary oi wages is in excess of £5O are also required to furnish similar declarations. Declaration forms and further information may be obtained from any Money-order Officq, together with details of the classes 'of persons who are exempt from the Registration Levy and the Employment Charge Persons who fail to furnish declarations as and when required, render themselves liable, on summary conviction, to a fine of £5O. A penalty equal to 10 per cent, of the amount of tax due will be incurred on any instalment not paid within one month of the due date. An employer who employs for more than seven days a person who is in arrears with the Registration Levy is liable, on summary conviction, to a fine of £2O. J. M. PARK, Commissioner.
