NIGHT .FLYING RECORD BY BRITISH BOMBER. [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.l (Received February 11, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 10. A record speed, approximately 409 miles an hour for a landplane flight after dark, was achieved by a new R.A.F. Hurricane fighter aeroplane, which flew from Edinburgh to London in forty-eight minutes. This was the first time that any aeroplane had travelled. at 300 miles or over after d The fastest speed of any land machine of this type was 379 miles an hour, established by Captain Ourster, at Munich on November 11 last.
