WEDDING

LANGDON—LEGGOE. The wedding was celebrated on Tuesday afternoon of Margaret Daphne, only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. Leggoe, Ikamatua West Coast, to Edgar Charles, younger son of the late Mr. J. W. Langdon and of Mrs. J. Silvey, Papanui. The Rev. Clarence Eaton performed the ceremony at the Durham Street Methodist Church and Mr. Melville Lawry played the wedding music. The bride, was given away by her uncle. Mr. Stanley Williams, of Waiuta. Her frock of pearl-tinted satin had leg-o’-mutton sleeves finished with frills over the hands, and a frill on the “Wallis” bodice was caught with a spray of pearl orange blossom. Tiny satin buttons trimmed the frock to the kneeline of the ful-ly-flared skirt, which formed a long oval train at the back. Her embroidered tulle veil was attached to a coronet of pearl orange blossom, and lilies were arranged with abutilons and begonias in her trailing bouquet. Mrs. Alan Thomson, sister of the bridegroom, attended as matron of honour, wearing a ground-length frock of hyacinth-blue cloque, the heart-shaped neckline being finished with a plait of the material to match the belt. The bridesmaid, Miss Cora Leggoe, cousin of the bride, wore a clover-pink frock of raindrop crepe made on similar lines, with the addition of tiny velvet bows at the heartshaped neckline, and a velvet sash at the waist. Velvet bows also trimmed the puffed elbow-length sleeves. Their headbands of tinted pearls were fastened beneath flowers at the back of the head, and they carried flowers to tone with their frocks. The little flower girl, Wendela Wylde (Ikamatua), wore a long frock of floral taffeta, the full skirt having a scalloped blue band at the hem, and similar scalloping showed on the neck yoke. A blue velvet sash defined the waist, and her head bandeau matched her posy of blue flowers. Mr. D. Wilson was best man, and Mr. R. Leggoe, the bride’s brother, attended as groomsman. The bride was presented with lucky horseshoes by her twin brothers, Neville and Stanley. The guests were received in Beath’s grey room by the bridegroom’s mother, who acted as hostess. She was wearing a floral frock patterned in fuchsia and blue flowers, a black silk coat, and a black Bangkok straw hat. She carried red begonias and abutilons. The bride travelled in a _ hdnevgold cotele frock patterned in navy and silver tree design, a peschaniki fur coat, and a honey-gold straw hat with navy trimmings.
