The Exchequer returns show that total ordinary revenue amounts to £668,038,930, compared with £632,901,597 at the corresponding date last year. Total expenditure, less selfbalancing items, is £741,201,707, com< pared with £699,463,990 at the corresnonding date in 1937. AUCKLAND, February 9. A total return of £397,262 from wool sold at the second Auckland wool sale on January 24 is announced by the Auckland Woolbrokers’ Association. Of the total of 30,541 bales offered, 28,375 were sold. Total weight of wool sold was 10,051,6041b5., and the average price realised was 9.485 d a pound, or £l4 a bale. In nearly every respect the sale was a definite improvement on the first, only fine wools showing some weakness in values.
