COAST CENTRE MEETING. , At a meeting of the West Coast Swimming Centre last evening, Mr G. Walters presided. It was decided to take the times at the West Coast championships at Keefton as the official record times. The president gave notice to move at the next meeting of the Centre that the West Coast Centre is prepared to undertake the organisation of all educational tours by New Zealand or overseas swimmers. It was decided to apply to the New Zealand Council for inclusion in the proposed tour of the Canadian swimmers. It was decided to apply to the New Zealand Council for inclusion in the educational tour by Misses Ludlow and Grey, and a diver, if possible, the tour to include Westport, Reefton, Greymouth, Hokitika, and Ross. Permission was granted to clubs to conduct carnivals as follows: Cobden Club, February 17; Greymouth Club, March 3; Technical School, March 7. The Westport Club wrote regarding the miniature cups which were to accompany the John Burns Cup.— It was decided to write to the Westport Club asking when they had won the cup, against whom, and what dates they had since defended the trophy; also whether they desired miniature cups or medals. It was decided to write to the Nev/ Zealand Council for an official ruling concerning the take-off board, also Concerning the- matter of finishing boards or ropes at other than the end of the baths, and if it was a rope that details of the size and covering (if any) be supplied. ft was decided that clubs be informed that they must apply for permission to hold carnivals and that power be given to the president and secretary to grant permission. The secretary was instructed to remind clubs regarding the payment of 2i per cent, of the gross gate takings to the Centre, and also that affilia tion fees should be paid as soon as possible. .
