Jack Morgan, the Wanganui discus thrower, who won the event at the New Zealand athletic trials at Wellington on Saturday, was quick to take advantage of advice given him [> by Alf Fitch, the American, the spect ial coach imported by the Wellington I Athletic Centre. Morgan, in a special ? trial to-night, arranged under championship conditions and in the presence of officials of the West Coast (N. 1. Athletic Centre and the press, threw the discus one hundred and • thirty-seven feet three inches in one s throw, and one hundred and thirtye seven feet in the next throw, thus - bettering his effort at Wellington by - over six feet.
