[Our Own Correspondent].' . HOKITJKA, December 13. The Hokitika has finished loading a cargo of timber and is expected to sail for Wellington this evening. Rain set in this afternoon. The past week’s rainfall was about one meh, while there was 22 2-5 hours of sunshine. Kanieri Lake proved a very popular resort yesterday, a large number of cars wending their way there. The road there is in very good order. The wedding took place on Saturday at All Saints Church of Iris, third daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Steve Havill, of Koiterangi, and Alan, fifth son- of Mr. and the late Mrs. W. Jones, of Hokitika. Rev. D. D. Thorpe officiated. The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ankle length fitting frock of blue self patterned cloque cut with a shoulder yolk and buttoned at the back from neck to waist with tiny crystal buttons. She wore a large cream stravV picture hat with .shoes and gloves to tone, and carried a beautiful bouquet of Christmas lillies, pink roses, sweet peas and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended 'by her sister Alice as bridesmaid. She wore a lemon self-patterned matt crepe with a gored skirt falling in three pleats at the front. The bodice was buttoned down the front and had a Peter Pan collar. She wore a large lemon straw picture hat and carried a bouquet in shades of orange and lemon. Mr. Stan Jones attended his brother as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s brother, where the usual toasts were honoured. The bride and bridegroom, who were the recipients of many beautiful presents, left later by the rail-car for Christchurch, where the honeymoon will be spent. The Jubilee Tennis Club’s “A” and “B” teams to play Hokitika on Saturday next, 18th. inst., will be selected from the following—Ladies: Misses E. Knight, S. Gooch, E. Dale, D. Ackers, Mrs. Delich, Misses D. Stopforth, I. Bell, I. Gooch, Mrs. A. Carr, Misses J. Collett, B. Cooke, J. Murphy, B. Dowell, and G. Appleton. All players unable to play are requested to notify the Match Committee. It is requested that all players selected attend at the courts and practice: Men: Messrs L. Gooch, J. Dove, A. Carr, P. Reardon, C. Barnhill, K. Higgins, O. Dwan, A. Anderson, H. Cave, R. Haworth, W. Smith, R. McCarthy, P.. Garden, E. Dundas, M. Dwan.

A donation of £2 2s from the Hokitika Returned Soldiers’ Association to the Red Cross Fund for China, brings the total to date up £BO 18s Bd.
