WANGANUI, December 13.. For making a false declaration In respect to unemployment relief, Hori Ropata was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment by Mr. Salmon, this
morning. He was fined £1 on each of four charges in respect to obtaining £4 in excess from the funds. INVERCARGIuL, December 13. For the second time in two months Andrew Allan McKenzie appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to-day charg-
ed with being intoxicated while m charge of a motor-car. Accused, who was not represented by counsel, pleaded not guilty. He pleaded guilty to a charge of driving a car while not being the holder oi a driver s license. On the first charge he was convicted and sentenced to one month’s im-
prisonment, and for driving without a license he was fined £5. or in default one month’s imprisonment. WELLINGTON, December 13 Two Chinese on charges, relating to separate preziises, were fined £3O and £lO respectively, for using the places as gaming houses.
