CLERICAL WORKERS AWARD. DUNEDIN, August 23. Employers who take advantage of the recent quashing of the Otago clerical workers’ award will be compelled to make up any arrears by legislation. This warning is given in a letter sent to the Otago Clerical Workers’ Union by the Acting-Minis-ter for Labour, Hon. P. C. Webb. The Minister’s warning has been communicated to the Canterbury Clerical Workers’ Union from Otago. The letter states that legislation is needed to restore thej status of the Otago Union, and that legislative action would be taken as soon as possible.
