Wednesday, are as follows:— General situation: An anti-cyclone has remained practically stationary over the Dominion, while a depression, located over south-west Tasman Sea has gradually intensified. Forecast: Winds south-easterly tcT easterly, backing to north-easterly north of Kawhia and East Cape; elsewhere northerly to north-westerly winds prevailing; force light to moderate mainly, but strong and squally in Foveaux Strait, and freshening tomorrow south of New Plymouth. Seas (N.Z. waters): rather rough to rough about Castlepoint and Foveaux Strait; elsewhere, slight to moderate, but later rising in the Cook strait area. Eastern Tasman Sea: Northerly to north-westerly winds, light to moderate in northern portion with slight Io moderate seas, but becoming .strong and squally with rising seas in the southern portion. Weather fine generally at first, but clouding over shortly in Westland and the far south, with rain developing. Conditions are becoming unsettled generally in the districts with a westerly aspect. Temperatures mild.
