ACCEPT WAGES RISE. OTHER POINTS TO BE CONTESTED. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] SYDNEY,' August 17. The police investigations into the explosion at Bothbury, yesterday, indicate that it was accidentally caused. Combined meetings of the miners’ lodges in the Newcastle and Maitland districts endorsed the new wages agreement reached last week. The meetings decided that all committees established during the campaign would be retained to carry out the agitation for the remaining points of the log. The recent negotiations were referred to by speakers as ‘ the first round of the tight.”
