MURDER CHARGE
Dropped at Melbourne AFTER FOUR TRIALS. (Received August 17, 11.35 p.m.) MELBOURNE, August 17. The Crown Law Department announces that the murder charge against Rupert Davies, aged 26, and William Cody, aged 24, as a result of the shooting of James Scriven, a Government messenger, on February 1, 1936, has been dropped. A nolle prosequi has been entered. Both men have been discharged, after four trials, in which all of the juries have disagreed.
