CHANGES EXPECTED

CANADA’S CONSTITUTION. AN IMPORTANT INQUIRY. (Received August 16 at 7.45 p.m.) OTTAWA August 15. Important constitutional changes are expected to result from the investigations of a Royal Commission whose appointment was announced by Mr. MacKenzie King, the Prime Minister. The purpose of the Commission is to examine the economic and financial basis of the Canadian confederation, and the distribution of legislative powers, including the allocation of the taxes. In a statement, Mr. MacKenzie King said that it had been represented that the Government powers were inadequate to meet economic and social changes.
