[Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] SYDNEY, August 14. Provided that finances can be arranged, it is intended to send an Australian hockey team to the Olympic Games at Tokio. With that end in view, the Australian Hockey Council has agreed to affiliate with the International Hockey Federation. Affiliation with the International Hockey Board of England will be terminated. With the co-operation of New Zealand, a visit of Indian players will be arranged for 1938. CHRISTCHURCH, August 14. P. E. Mathieson, national 150yds. back-stroke champion and holder of all New Zealand back-stroke records, will leave Dunedin on Monday for Wellington to join the police force. Mathieson is also the holder of the Australian and New Zealand backstroke records for the 400 metres and 220 /yds. He is one of the swimmers selected in the New Zealand team for the Empire Games at Sydney.
