CALLED TO ARMS
RUSSIAN CONSCRIPTS 21 and 22 Year Olds [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received August 12, 7.50 p.m.) LONDON, August-11. The Daily Telegraph’s Moscow correspondent says: The Soviet defence Commissar, Marshal Veroshiloff, issued a decree yesterday calling to the colours of the whole 1916 class of conscripts. The decree also calls up half of the 1915 class of conscripts. A Moscow Trade Union organ, "Labour,” affirms: . “This call to arms is a feast for the entire land! Lt is a joyous event for every Soviet citizen!” The paper adds: “War clouds are becoming denser. Fascism is already preparing for war against the Soviet.”
