MISSING CAR FOUND
abandoned near tophouse. NELSON, August 12. Missing from Vanguard Street on Monday afternoon, a small eight horse-power car owned by Mr Hector O’Connell was discovered abandoned near Tophouse. The time of the disappearance of the car coincided with the time of disappearance of two boys aged about sixteen years, rhe car, when located, was found to be undamaged, but had run out of uetrol. Detective J. McLeod proceeded tc Tophouse to make investigations. It is understood that a car answering the description of the missing vehicle with two boys as occupants was seen near Tophouse. The boys were given a meal at a farmhouse and left on a shooting expedition.
