SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. TIMARU, August 12. It has been decided that the South Island Miniature Rifle Association’s championship will be fired on Roberts targets and not on metric targets, as previously announced. The shoot takes place in Timaru on August 28. OTTAWA, August 11. The Canadian rifle shooting contests were continued in a blinding rain storm. In the match for the McDonald Brier trophy, the Australian, James, secured second place with 122 out of a possible 125. Another Australian, Motton, finished fifth equal, with 119.
