AUSTRALIAN STATE DEBTS. 17 MILLION LOSS PER YEAR. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] SYDNEY, August 11. The anual report of the Commonwealth Grants Commission shows that the net. -losses on the public debts of the States for the past financial year, after debiting interest and sinking fund and exchange, anu crediting earnings, were £17,718,000. The individual amounts were: New South Wales £5,586,000, Victoria £3,012,000 Queensland £3,658,000, South Australia £2,517,000 / Western Australia £l,-942,000. Tasmania £1,003,000.
