R.S.A. RE-UNION.

(To the Editor). Sir, —For some weeks there has been advertised in the newspapers the Anniversary Reunion of the R.S.A., taking place to-morrow evening, with the charges at 3/6 single and 6/6 double tickets. Naturally local reI turned “Diggers” have generally been looking forward to being present in order to commemorate the occasion of the anniversary. As one of them, I would like to express my opinion that the prices of the tickets are too high. No doubt, many Dig.» gers are flourishing, and would not mind these charges, but there are many other returned men who, through unforeseen circumstances, are fighting hard for a living, and perhaps married with families, who cannot afford the prices charged, but who yet would be glad to be present for the occasion. There is no doubt a fair amount of expense in the catering for these banquets; still, seeing that this is a reunion on a special occasion, the funds of the R.S.A. could be used to help a worthy cause. There will be many complimentary tickets passing around, but these will not reach many a Digger who had been looking forward to the Reunion, only to find that, to their sorrow, funds will not allow them to be there.—l am, etc., “DIGGER.” Greymouth, August 6, 1937.
