FUTURE OF REEFTON
[To the Editor]. Sir,—To “Critic,” I would say, very good; but action is wanted in this case, which means, mostly, a new platform for the Council, and that is the return of a new local body. It would mean that a housing scheme would come at once into operation, brightening up things all round. The contest would develop into one for and against the policy of Labour in this matter. The housing scheme has here been turned down on a casting vote. In dealing out that medicine, it should have been remembered that at last election the Labour vote here showed a 300 majority. That proved this town is for the policy of the Labour Party, such as housing. The turning down of the housing scheme ■ was a direct negative to the Labour ' Government, and its supporters here. The progress of Reefton dictates that residents should get a grip on the situation on election day. I am etc., i RATEPAYER.
