Racing Notes

Rangitikei Riders: The following riding engagements have been announced .for the Rangitikei meeting. G. Tattersall. Race Call, Corroboree, Ingenuity, and Alby; D. Mansfield, Waitohu, in the last race - W. J. Enough non, Orient Dawn; P. Rae Tribesman and Maaiawatu. Shrewd: Shrewd has been recommissioned l at Hastings after an absence of oyer three years. He is now twelve years old. Only One: Only One is reported from Hastings to have come on measurably in the last fortnight, but his stablemate Nelumbo has been disappointing in recent gallops. Martara: Martara has been accepted for both the Rankitikei Cup and .the open sprint: and though 'his chance might be better in the Cup it is probable that he will d 0 his preparatory race for the ®t. Leger Stakes next week in the shorter event at' Bulls. Forest Glow: Forest Glow was one of the safest jumpers in the steeplechase game last winter, and .so it was surprising that he should have fallen in a hurdle race recently at Hawera when having his first start since his resumption. He will have his next outing in the hurdle at Bulls and his showing will be instructive, for lire is one of the most likely aspirants in the offing for Northern or Natinnal honours during the coming winter. Padiios a surprise winner among highweight class at Woodville recently is to make his .debut as a hurdler at Bulls. He is said to have given some promise at this department, and he is in good hands to make good at the game, but so far the Tea Trays have shown no hurdling propensities. RACING FIXTURES.
