THE WEATHER
(Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 4. The weather report and forecast are as follows:— General situation; A deep depression is at present centred near the Chat, hamt Islands, wMle an intense anti, cyclone covers eastern Australia, a<nd extends across the Tasman Sea. Forecast : Moderate to strong winds, reaching gale force af. times in exposed positions; especially 011 the East Coast and about Cook Strait. Seas (N.Z. waters); Rough north of Farewell Spit and south of East Cape; elsewhere, moderate. Eastern Tasinam Sea; Moderate to strong, hut decreasing .southerly winds. S'eas moderate to rather rough.’ Weather; Mainly fair to fine in the western districts; elsewhere still changeable, with occasional passing showers, especially between Cook Strait and East Cape. .‘Temperatures cold', ■ WKth 'inland frosts in the South Island.
