FLAX INDUSTRY
Revival Plan DETAILS ANNOUNCED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 4. The Minister of Industries and Commerce, in a statement to-day, gives details of the material proposals of the plan for the rehabilitation of the flax industry. Minimum prices are to be declared from time to time. Mills are to be licensed. The marketing is to be under State control. There is to be protection for the development of a domestic textile industry. > There will be control, if considered necessary, of the level of royalties* on flax. There is to be a Research Organisation, with a Government area for the growing of various , kinds of flax, and a mill with an experimental section .and a commercial section of approximately 300 tons capacity' per annum. An announcement is also gazetted to-day that any person or organisation affected may forward any recommendation or objection in writing within a month.
