(Our Own Correspondents REEFTON, October o. Air L. Reid, Public Works electrician, Humphrey’s Gully water race, i s at present on a short visit to nis home in Reef top,. Mr and Mrs T. L. Floyd and famhy left this morning cn route for Milton, where- Mr Floyd takes up the position of Postmaster. The last Rugby League match of the season w'ijl be played on the Race course on the 11th for the O’Donnell Cup. between Reefton juniors (holders) and Mawheraiti (challengers). Alawheraiti will field a.heavy and hard team, but they should be counteracted by the fast Reeftun ’backs. At a meeting of the Fire Brigade last night. Mr TV. Blom (secretary, was appointed delegate ■to the- Fire Brigades’ Conference itt Reefton on Friday, October 30. Alembers o.f the Brigade have commenced serious training for the events a-f, the demonstr.i ti-on, and the times- recorded at the practices arc considered very satisfac tory. The medals, cups, and shield f 11 the demonstration prizes will be cm view in Patterson’s window. It wa.resolved -to write to the Inangahua Baud, asking if they will be willing to contribute a. programme on the night- of the “demo.” ]t w:i“ also resolved to call a meeting of lad-.'s willing to assist in malting the arrangements for tin- bail. Air J. Bird-, of Westpory. dentist, was in Reefton to-day. He has- made a good recovery from a serious illness which necessitated his stay in Buller Hospital for some weeks. Air Bird leaves for Murch’“on to-rnorroiw.
