Fine Tour Record AND LARGE PROFIT. (Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, August 3. Appreeiat ion of the. high stall lard of play and conduct off the fi°ld of the English ißugby League team during its Australian tour was contained in a letter from the Australian Board of Control received by the manager, Air R. Anderton, ou ’he team’s arrival at New Plymouth to-night. The letter was read by Air Anderton a : the civic, reception tendered the team. “I hare been instructed to tender you the congratulations of the Board on thp financial ami playing record of your team in Australia,” slated the Secretary of the Board; “your share of the gate receipts has amounte.l io £19,351 12s, against £16.087 6s 3d on thv previous tour, an increase of £3,264 5s 9d.
