BAKING EXPERT
GOVERNMENT APPOINTMENT. WELLINGTON, June 16. Tn order to act as liason officer between the flour millers and the bakers,, the Government has appointed Mr. 11. Hansen, who hitherto has been employed by Bycroft Limited. Auckland, as their testing baker, to the position of Travelling Baking Expert for Now Zealand. Mr. Hansen started his new duties to-day.
A recognised authority on baking. Mr. Hansen is the author of the wellknown text book “Bread Baking in New Zealand.” He will work under the AVheat Committee, giving free service to both the bakers and millers. He will advise, the millers on the best methods of overcoming baking problems, and, if necessary, will consult with the millers on tendencies that have arisen, or difficulties experienced, in baking with their particular flour. The appointment has been made as part of a scheme initiated by the Minister of Industries and Commerce to control and assist . wheat milling and baking industries.
