FLOODS DEVELOPING.
(Per Press Association.) MASTER TON, June 16. Heavy and continuous rain has fallen since the early hours of the. morning. and is causing some apprehension of ' floods. At eight o’clock to-night water was just beginning to flow over the. main ' highway near Bridv, on the. Alasterton-AVe lington road,"while two rather large slips are reported on the Featherston side ot the Rimutaka Road, which is passable for one-way traffic. There is also a washout, to the edge of the bitumen for a distance of about twelve feet m the same vicinity. _ _ Thp AA’hareama River at Tinui is reported to be running very high, and other streams on the East Coast are in heavy flood.
