U.S.A. Veterans’ Bonus 1650 MILLION DOLLARS DISTRIBUTED. (Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn. - ) (Received .Tune 15 at S p.m.) WASHINGTON. June 14. It was the biggest pay-out in the U.S. Government’s history to-day when the postmen delivered their “Baby Ronds.’’ aggregating 1650 million dollars, to three million Great War veterans. There were celebrations by the Veterans’ Associations throughout the nation to mark the greatest event of its kind in the United States history. The police are ready for the swift prosecution of “confidence men’’ and other “get-rich-quick’’ tale spinners. Armed national guardsmen are mobilised for any emergency in the huge deliveries. A wave of buying and consequent trade pickings are expected.
