DESCEND TO CAMP ONE. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable As«n., LONDON. Juno 14. A covprighl message from Rut I ledge at North Face Camp, on Sunday night, says: Smythe and Wyn Harris completed a valuable reconnaisance on the west, side of North Col. Heavy snow i« covering Everest, driving us from this high camp, which was established at an altitude of 20,000 feet. We are descending to Camp One. at 18,000 feet, and thence sending a detailed report of our conclusions, when SmithWindliom has re-opened the main wireless.
