(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON. May 8. At the Magistrate’s Court the police charged William Montgomery with disobedience of a maintenance order to the extent of £163 14s (id. He was convicted and sentenced to three months’ imprisonment in Greymouth prison, issue of warrant to bo suspended so long as defendant pays 5s per week off the arrears owing and keeps up current payments of maintenance. A fine, of £1 with £1 3s 6d costs was imposed on a man for being after hours on Waiuta licensed premises. At the. Warden’s Court the following applications were granted: J. F. Coghlau, six ordinary prospecting licenses, each over 09 acres, situate in Blocks XI and XV, Reefton S.D.; J. J. Doran and J. O’Connor, to add Benjamin Hore as a joint applicant for an ordinary prospecting license; J. J. Morris to amend description of land applied for under prospecting license. Applications as under were recommended for the consent of the Hou. Minister of Mines: George Kellow. ordinary prospecting license, 20 acres in Blk XI, Reef ton S.D.; Emil Nyberg, three ordinary prospecting licenses covering in the aggregate 238 acres of land at Murray Creek; J. J. Doran and J. O’Connor, ordinary prospecting license, 100 acres in Block VI, Waitahu S.D.; Donald McCormack, ordinary prospecting license, 20 acres in

Block XI, Reef ton S.D.; G. AV. Thompson and J. F. Coghlan, four ordinary prospecting licenses, covering 400 acres of laud in Block X, Reefton. S.D.; A. G. Petley, two ordinary prospecting licenses covering 182 acres of land iu Blocks XII, Inangahua S.D., and IT and IV, Reef ton S.D.; G. W. Thompson and J. F. Coghlan, two ordinary prospecting licenses covering 200 acres of land in Blocks XV and XX’I, Reefton S.D.; Larry’s Consolidated Gold Mining Co. Ltd., four ordinary prospecting licenses covering 400 acres of land in Blocks 11, VI and VII Reef ton S.D.; T. IT. Lee, coal prospecting license over 107 acres in Block 111, Waitahu S.D. (This application was also recommended for the conseut of the Commissioner of State Forests); J. J. Morris, ordinary prospecting license over 100 acres iu Block 11, Reefton S.D. Recommended as amended. An application by Mrs. R. F. A. Fellows for an ordinary prospecting license over two acres in Block XII, Mawheraifi S.D. was refused on tho ground that the Minister of Alines declined to consent to the grant. An application by Percy O’Brien against the Mount David Sluicing Co. Ltd., - and other for an order for sale of mining property to satisfy a wages lien, was struck out, the amount claimed having been paid into Court. All other applications were adjourned.

At the Warden’s Court in the suit H. A. Honey, F. Sara and AV. A. Sara v. A. R. Perry, a claim for £35 15s for wages, judgment was made for plaintiffs for the amount claimed and costs £5 17s.
