BARR£TOWN GOLD DREDGING. Owing to delayed completion of plans and difficulty in obtaining satisfactory tenders for supply and delivers' of various sections, states the first annual report of Barrytown Gold Dredging. Did. Sydney, progress of the equipment has been delayed considerably. The directors anticipate that production will begin before the end of the year. Construction of the dredge was begun on March 20. A pilot treatment plant has been constructed in order that the recovery practice will be well established, and adjustment delays in the intial stages avoided. Expenditure on the dredge to December 31 was £11,549, and liquid resources, including cash £15,700, were £22,722, with which were credits £1943 and loan account £17,474.

WAIMEA GOLD LTD. The above company report that sluicing operations commenced on its property at Kuniara on the 7th inst. and all plant is -working efficiently. Sluicing is being carried out with 20 heads of water at a pressure of one hundred and eighty feet and it is estimated that an output of approximately one hundred cubic yards per hour will be maintained. The directors of the companv are Sir Harry Moxham, ami Mr. IT/R. Crane, both'of Sydney. The construction -work -was carried out under the supervision of Mr. A. R. Perry. ALEXANDER MINES RETURNS. 'l’he returns for March and April were: Battery Department: 596 tons of ore crushed for 258 ozs. 8 dwts. melted gold. Cvanide Department: 360 tons of sands' treated for 58 ozs. 2dwts. bullion. The total estimated value is £2.290. In addition 8} tons of concentrates have been saved, value at £l5O. In estimating -the above values, gold has been taken at 145/- per fine ounce. BLACKWATER MINES. Last month’s return was: Crushed 3.606 tons, yielding 1,704 fine ounces of gold from all sources, the value of which, taking gold at 14.0/6 per fine ounce, is £11.968. Working expenses were £6.141, leaving a -working profit of £5.827. Development expenditure was £267 and capital expenditure was £552. During the month No. 13 Level was advanced 46 feet on reef averaging 30 inches wide, and 171 dwts. in value, making a total distance of ;>0 feet driven north of crosscut, averaging 30 inches in width and 18 dwts value. On No. 12 Level at 2.580 ft. north from Main shaft, a winze chamber was cut and a winze was sunk 1 1 feet, in blank. BIG RIVER. The annual meeting of shareholders in the Dig River Mines took place in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Reefton. the chairman of directors, Air. J. W. Hannan. presiding. The report and bal-ance-sheet were received and adopted. The following were re-elected directors: Messrs ,T. W. Hannan, .1. B. Stevenson, ,T. B. Auld and A. O’Donnell.
