PARISHIONERS’ MEETING. At the -annual meeting parishioners of Holy Trinity Church, Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn presided over a representative gathering. Apreciation of the services of the late Mrs J. Hambleton and the late Mr. W. Cochrane, were placed on record. The A iear reported that this year the visiting preacher for Trinity Sunday would be the Ven Archdeacon Wi Bullock, ot St Peter’s Wellington Reports from the Sunday School choir, and various Guilds showed a- year ot progress. The Blaketown Sunday School has a freehold' section near the Eire- Brigade Station and there is a small sum in hand for building a schoolroom. The Karoro Infant Sunday Scvhooi meets in the United Pavilion. The attendance at Holy Trinity School has improved and afternoon schools are held regularly at Camerons and Paroa. The B'/ble Classes sustained a loss this year through the departure of Mrs A. Cl Dickson and Mr. Frith Roberts Both the senior and junior choirs reached a high standard iu part ot' the year, but the transfer of Mr. T. F. Savage to Dimedin was a set-back. Mr. A. Hopkinson has temporarily filled the position , of choir-master 'and Aliss V. Millar has acted as organist.

The parish balance sheet was presented Air. 1-L( Herring, People’s Warden. Thp ordinary offertories amounted to £467; of this amount over £250 was given through the envelope system. Offertories end subscriptions for the church’s work overseas amounted to £9O; for Honic> Alission £l2. Special efforts by the ladies’ organisations raised £lBO. The charge this year for maintenance and repairs of church, organ, Sunday school and vicarage was higher than last, yi'ar and must continue to increase in the old buildings. The purchase of the Tainui St. properties had absorbed all ready monies and left a credit balance of only 4/7. The now church building fund and furnishing, fund is invested with the Diocesan Trust Board, Nelson and will be available when the plans for the new church are finally approved by the Standing Committee. The balance sheet was approved and adopted. Air. Herring move that the meeting approve of tho proposed Diocesan scheme for making the Home Alission Fund a regular proportionate charge upon all the parishes. This ■would enable the work of the country districts to be stabilised. Air. Leach pointed out that in the past the parish’s voluntary contribution to the fund fluetuated between £lO and £9O. The average was well above the amount to which the parish will bo actually assessed. The change would end a very unsatisfactory position. The proposal was carried. Approval was also given to the principle of payment of the travelling expenses of lay-representa-tives to Synod. The following officers were elected: Vicar’s Warden: Air, I. After the elections, the legal for malities in connection with tile sale purchase and investing- of trust properties wore completed and the documents signed. Votes of thanks were tendered to the Lay Readers, Sunday School teachers, members of the choir Ladies’ Guild,, Sanctuary Guild and Alothers’ Union. The Churchwardens recorded tho appreciation by the parishioners of the service of Archdeacon and Airs. Jermyn.
