ST. JOHN’S SHOW

CHRYSANTHEMUM DISPLAY. The St. John’s Horticultural Society’s annual Chrysanthemum' Show, was held in St. John’s Hall, yesterday afternoon, amt was most successful. The entries, however, were not large, especially iu the cut Howers and chrysanthemum sections, the recent bad weather conditions having adversely affected blooms. There was a large attendance at the show, ami the tearooms and cake stalls conducted by members did good business. The judges were:—Cut Howers and vegetables. Mr. IL G. Cooper; Domestic Section, Mr. P. 81-anehlield, senr.; Decorative Section, Mrs. A. Wallis and Miss D. Broad.

Special prizes were won ns follows; Rose Bowl, for most points in chrysanthemum classes. Mrs. S. Tomlinson (Waiuta); Best Bloom in Show. Mrs. W. Harris (Waiuta); Trophy, most points in Decorative sect.on, Mrs. G. Hear; Trophy most points in Domestic section. Mrs. M. Smith (Ratherglen); Trojihy. most points in vegetable section. Mrs. G.
