i WELLINGTON, Alay 5. The weather report and. forecast are as follows: — General situation: A westerly depression followed by one or two seeondaries is crossing New Zealand. To-day an anti-cyclone was moving to southwestern Australia where pressure has risen considerably. Forecast: Winds northwesterly at first, moderate to strong generally and reaching gale force in parts of Cook Strait. A change to southerlies is beginning this evening in the south and extending over the Dominion to-mor-row night, Seas (New Zealand waters): Seas rough on the west coast and in the Coo?c and Foveaux Strait areas; elsewhere moderate, but later rising on the east coast of the South Island. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong south-westerly winds and rather rough to rough seas. Weather: Cloudy to overcast with rain at times in most districts. i Temperatures: Becoming colder and some hail probable in the south.
