Compulsory voting with an election expenses limitation was advocated by Mr , Bennett, the Opposition Leader, in his speech on the Address-in-Reply to the Throne. The new,trade treaty with the United States was attacked as an improvident, one by Mr Bennett. Mr Angus Maclnnis (Co-operative Commonwealth Federation) gave notice of a. resolution either for the granting of the franchise to all Orientals or for excluding all of them from Canada. If the Oriental, he said, were good enough to be a resident o. Canada, he was good enough to vote. If he were not good enough to vote, he should be elsewhere.
