UNITED CLUB MEETING. At the aiiunl meeting of the United Cricket Club last evening Mr. W. E. Reynolds presided over an enthusiastic attendance of 20 members. The balance sheet showing a credit balance of £1 16s lid was read and adopted. The president said that last year was one of the most successful seasons for ten years, and it was a noteworthy fact that every member bad paid his subscription. Special thanks were due to Messrs. B. Mann, L. W. Louissou ami D. Jarvis tor donations to the Club. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Dr. H. S. Bay (re-elected); President, Mr. W. E. Reynolds (reelcted); Vice-Presidents, Messrs T. P. Ryan, C. L. Kettle, A. Adams, F. H. Denton (re-elected), W. F. Harley, W. Meldrum, H. Morgan, K. B. Balehin, B. Thurlow and E. Warnes; Secretary, Air. G. Howes (re-elected); Assistantsecretary, Mr. M. Banks; Treasurer, Mr. H. S. Nightingale (re-elected); Club Captain, Mr. J. Heasley; Committee, Messrs B. Mann, W. Bapley, P. Brooks, M. Banks; Auditor, Mr. H. Wicks; Delegates to W.C.C.A., Messrs W. Rapley and 11. S. Nightingale; Selection Committee, Messrs Nightingale. Heasley and G. Howes and the team captains. Six new members, Messrs. AV. Tuinilty, Hoyle, G. and R. Peek, W. Sharp and L. o’Callaghan were enrolled, and 20 other members indicated their intention of taking an active interest in the club. The delegates to the W.C.C.A. were instructed to support Saturday as the day for the main competition, with two days duratiin. A resolution was passed congratulating Graham Gilbert on his selection in the 1935-36 All Blacks. The matter of players attending practices at least one night weekly 0-as discussed and it was decided that the selector take this into consideration when selecting teams. Subscriptions were fixed at 25s for members over 21 and £1 under, reducable by 5s if paid by due date, December 23. The Secretary reported that Mr. Warwick Rothwell had indicated his intention to donate a bat to the club and a vote of thanks was passed for the kind offer. A vote of thanks was passed to the secretary for his untiring efforts on behalf of the club.
