Last month’s shipping activities at the port of Greymouth provided a record outward tonnage for any one month, and more than equalled the former record for arrivals and departures established in August 1929. During the past month 34 vessels aggregating 18,188 tons entered the port, whilst 35 vessels aggregating 19.52 s tons took their departure. In August 1929. a total of 32 vessels (19,688 tons) entered the port and 35 vessels (19,7.18 tons) took their departure. In July, 1934, there were 24 arrivals anti 19 departures.
